Proceed
is a multicultural community health and social services organization; this
non-profit organization is led by people of various nationalities serving the communities
surrounding the entire Union County, New Jersey area. Since 1970, this
organization has been hand in hand with these communities' families through
programs designed and developed in collaboration with other non-profit entities
like this one. The operation of Proceed is based on two branches, and the first
is CLINICAL which is based on giving counseling on domestic violence, substance
and alcohol abuse, family, and taking HIV tests; While the second program is
based on assistance with rent, utilities, insolation of houses, food, help with
the creation of Resumes and how to find them work.
My
role on the day I was there, was to screen people to determine their
eligibility for the programs or not; I also had to take assistance in the
financing and credit classes that PROCEED offers in their office through zoom,
then they made me makes flyers about the activities offered by the
organization. I love working for this organization. It is incredible how
cultural diversity and kindness come together to help hundreds of families who
need it at times like the ones we live in this last year. Before the pandemic
broke out, they worked face-to-face with the people they helped; however, now
they have to limit themselves to working with them via email or Zoom.
